Vinpower Digital announced it will offer recordable CDs and DVDs under the resurrected Prodisc brand name.
As a matter of background, Prodisc Technology was a large and well-regarded media manufacturer headquartered in Taiwan. Starting life in 1990, the company went on to produce a variety of recordable and rewritable storage options (CD-R/RW, DVD±R/RW, DVD-RAM), as well as optical lenses and other components, before eventually running aground in 2008.
Currently available in Japan, Vinpower’s Prodisc-branded media should be available soon in the United States and eventually worldwide.

Popular optical disc brand Prodisc re-enters the United States!
Mar, 10 2022 — Optical Disc Prodisc has been a very popular global brand for over 30 years and, like many other brands, has disappeared from the market due to mergers and acquisitions. But in a few moments Prodisc is back! Prodisc is currently sold in Japan and is attracting attention for its excellent quality and stability. The DVD-R and CD-R product lines have entered the North American market and will soon be available in the United States.
It has the durability of Prodisc optical discs and wide compatibility regardless of old or new drives. Speaking of Prodisc, it means that the risk of write NG is low and the content playback and retention is excellent. The Prodisc lineup has passed a wide range of inspections to guarantee the strongest quality, and has already received a great deal of attention in Japan, so we decided to expand beyond the Pacific Ocean to North America. Soon, the Prodisc series will be available worldwide as before.
