Philips TV Surround Base offers an integrated 3D Blu-ray and sound solution in a stunning pedestal design

LAS VEGAS – Today at the 2014 International CES, Philips demonstrated two new TV Surround Base sound solutions for the North American market, offering consumers amazing sound quality in a beautifully designed wooden casing that fits seamlessly under their television. Both products offer high-fidelity sound packed in a sleek design that supports a flat screen television up to 55-inches in size, making it an innovative design complement to any room. Of the two new models, the HTB3525B integrates a Blu-ray 3D player and the Philips Smart TV Internet TV service for a full home cinema experience. The Philips TV Surround Base HTB3525B is also 2014 CEA Innovations Award winner in the Home Theater category.

“In today’s home, space is at a premium and consumers want a space-saving design that will enhance their décor”, said Werner van Eck, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer WOOX Innovations, a subsidiary of Philips. “By developing an integrated sound solution that sits underneath the TV, the TV Surround Base’s sleek design offers a high quality home theater sound experience while saving space and eliminating unsightly wires. Philips Surround Base is made with premium materials, allowing them to be one of the few such devices capable of supporting larger displays.”

The TV Surround Bases’ wooden design is not only attractive – it is also ideal for conducting sound. Featuring an integrated subwoofer and virtual surround sound, the Philips TV Surround Base gives consumers a rich-sounding home cinema experience. The HTB3525B model includes a discreet slot for Blu-ray Discs and offers access to the Philips Smart TV Internet TV service, allowing consumers to further enhance their experience.

Not just for movies, the Philips TV Surround Base offers wireless music streaming via Bluetooth, enabling consumers to fill the room with their favorite music. The addition of Near Field Communications for Android phones allows consumers to pair their phone with the Surround Base using Bluetooth with just one touch. With only one HDMI cable needed to connect the Surround Base to the TV, set up is quick and simple.  Utilizing with HDMI CEC, allows consumers to also control the Surround Base with the TV remote control.

The Philips HTL4115B and HTB3525B will be available in Spring 2014 with a recommended retail price of $199 and 299 respectively.
